For a dismissal to be fair, your employer will need to justify their reason for terminating your employment.
It is imperative that your employer provides a valid reason and demonstrates that they have followed a fair process before terminating your employment. Unfortunately, many employers rush or follow an incorrect process which results in unfair dismissals of staff. The process that the employer must follow will vary depending on the situation, and usually extends over several days.
The employer cannot simply inform an employee that they are fired without providing the opportunity for feedback and time to consider and prepare for a meeting to discuss the reason for the potential termination of their employment.
