Harassment
Harassment can come in many forms, from an employer or another staff member.
Sexual harassment is where you’re subject to unwanted sexual advances, getting requests for sexual favours or are being subjected to offensive physical or verbal behaviour of a sexual nature.
Any kind of unwanted harassment is a violation of your human rights. In a workplace, this can also be misconduct, and your employer has a responsibility to investigate any claims. You also have the right to bring a personal grievance against your harasser.
It’s not always clear what is considered sexual harassment in the workplace. This could include requests for sex, rewards/promotions for sex, threats, or behaviour or comments of a sexual nature that you find offensive. If you feel you are being harassed, seek professional advice immediately.
